The Coronavirus/Covid 19 pandemic that is currently sweeping the world has brought the world on its knees, forcing more than half the population of the world to stay indoors and in the process impacting life across the world in a severe manner. Educational institutions and students are no exception. But, Ramaiah Institute of Management Studies took up this challenge and was one of the first institutions in the city to start online classes for students so that the process of learning-teaching does not suffer. All faculty members and students were trained on how to use the online platform and after that, it was business as usual. Faculty regularly conduct online classes, following a time table, just like how they used to in the normal world. Since students are confined to their homes and have little distraction, attendance for the online classes is almost 100% and the feedback given by the students about the efficacy of online classes is very encouraging. The Institute went one step further and also organized an online Faculty Development Program for the benefit of the teaching community. The FDP was attended by close to 100 participants from across the country. Plans are afoot to extend the online capabilities to other allied areas of education as well.
