• Management Seminar on Employability of Management Graduates – Challenges and Opportunities: Student’s Perspectives

    Management Seminar began with an invocation song by Ms. Shilpa, IV sem PGPM + PGD and welcome address by Dr. Radha R, Dean,. She welcomed the Chief Guest Ms. Shubha Girish, Credens Fidcuiary Solutions and the student participants, student volunteers and faculty members too.
    The chief guest Ms.Shubha Grish delivered the speech and addressed the gathering on the GDP of India, and its voyage from Agriculture – Corporate to LPG embedded with technology, as well as on the opportunities available at the current market scenario. She also educated the students to have the Grit to face challenges, which brings the real knowledge. She also spoke about the openings and requirements of the current corporate world.
    She also expressed that getting a job is not a big deal, but performing towards it, is a big thing. To be successful in the job role which has been offered, the students are supposed to follow the key things, viz., “Learn, Observe, and Live by yourself”. Job Performance should be fulfilling the expectations of the corporate and all this happens to entry or exit in the corporate is through Aptitude and Attitude. She stressed and gave the message to the students that risk-taking is very much essential and have to come out from their comfort zone to achieve the success. She also opined on revamping the educational system, creativity towards the work.
    After a short tea break, the Student Speakers Mr. Sabir Hussain and Mr. Ankit Kumar Basu, II sem PGPM + PGDM, conveyed on the expansion, equity, and literacy in India and also explained the reasons of the employment, under employment and over employment. They also highlighted on the expectations and the reality faced by the students as a fresher when they step into the organization.
    Next, Ms. Gummalla Sreeja and Ms. Aditi Sinha, II sem PGDM, the student speakers for the forenoon session delivered a speech on the reasons for unemployment and gave the glimpses how to improve them through an interaction. The team interrogated the audience and highlighted on the challenges faced by the graduates in the corporate world.
    Post lunch, the third team Ms. Vasudha and Mr. Girish, IV sem PGPM + PGD, started their talk on why India has less than 10% MBA Graduates in the organization. They also emphasized on employability skills required in the corporates and also mentioned on how to pipeline assignments for the benefits of the students. Students are brimmed through RIFS on value added courses, pre-placement training sessions.
    Fourth Speaker was Mr. Parthipan, IV sem PGPM + PGDM (AIMA) delivered the speech on the reality faced by the students during the placement process, as well as the students pre and post placement preparation process. He also explained about the challenges faced by the students and gave some tips to face the placement process and interviews. The complete session shared by Mr. Parthipan was through his personal experience and highlighted on dos and don’ts during interview process.
    Finally, Ms. Humera and Ms. Kusum IV sem PGPM + PGDM (AIMA) gave the presentation on the complications faced by the MBA graduates in the organization. They also spoke about the ways to crack the interview process and the work life in the organization and parallelly maintain the student life and the work life balance. They also shared their experience of their own.
    The seminar was concluded by giving vote of thanks, followed by National Anthem.
