    A day has come to mark a formal beginning of our student’s academic journey…..
    A day has come to introduce our new batch of students to our family…….
    A day has come to make our students know each other……..
    And finally,
    A day has come to bring out the very best in our students in terms of their talent, enthusiastic participation, unwavering commitment, teamwork, confidence, hardwork, companionship, compassion and the zeal to do…….
    It’s another glorious year of Ignite 2019 that marks the official welcoming of new batch of Post-Graduate Management students at RIMS on 31st August, 2019.
    The dignitaries present to grace the occasion were Dr.M.R.Pattabhiram (Director, MSRF & RIMS), Dr.R.Radha (Dean), Prof. Raj Menon and Mr .Abhishekh Prasad,( the chief guests as well as the jury chair for the best fresher),Cultural heads, Program heads, faculties ,non-teaching staff ,seniors students and the freshers.
    Students donned in vibrant shades of red, orange ,yellow ethnic outfits made the aura radiant.
    The ceremony commenced with an invocation dance performed by the senior students Ms. Harika and Ms. Sumanjali on “ Ekadantaya vakrathundaya ”.The recital invokes the blessings of Almighty Lord ,Ganesha for prosperity and fortune.It symbolically marks the successful beginning of an academic journey.
    The ceremony preceded with the lighting of lamp. The gathering stood up in mark of rememberance and paid a rich floral tributes to our beloved founder,Dr.M.S.Ramaiah.
    Dr.Radha (Dean) on behalf of MSRF and RIMS extended her whole hearted welcome to each and everyone present in the auditorium with few words of advice and blessings, marked the official commencement of one of the most memorable events .
    The duet anchors(seniors) Monisha, Adwaith and Shailik, Amandeep kept the audience amused,excited and thoughtful throughout ,through their meaningful dialogues and unscripted lively conversation.
    Then started the expedition of pulsating entertainment.
    It was cultural fiesta which included breathtaking solo and group performances by both seniors and freshers.It was an amalgamation of mellifluous music and dazzling dances. The auditorium resonated with rhythmic clapping , tapping feet and the to and fro movement of the audience. The solo music performers included old as well as new high pitched bollywood remixes and english songs like ‘My heart will go on….channa mereya,dewaani mastaani,oo jaane jana…
    Shilpa with her soulful singing,Girish,Shreyansh in their clapbox,guitar as well as vocals and Monisha in her vocals ignited the stage with mesmerizing music.
    In dance some real electrifying performances were showcased by Shubham and team ,Jhansi in her fusion dance and Priyanka in her women empowering enactment.
    The journey was immensely enjoyable.
    A nostalagic moment where the seniors of last year (2018) top-10 best fresher, performed a theme walk. Followed by a ramp-walk where freshers were dressed in attires that depicted varied bollywood themes of Om Shanti Om ,Barfi ,Rangasthala, Singham, Padmavat……
    Now came,the most awaited and penultimate segment of judging the Best Fresher.The preparation started two week in advance under the commendable, unwavering commitment and supersvision of top 10 co-ordinators.It was a real titanic task that comprised of four rigrouous rounds to identify the top 10 contestants from 200 participants.
    In the final round, the two judges asked volley of questions to judge the contestant’s attitude ,ethinicity, perception and personality. The contestants were addressesd as 10 planets as Venus, Jupiter ,Pluto, Sun ,Mars, Uranus….
    Some of the takeaways given by the judges in the process of identifying the best fresher and runner up were as follows: to be always modest, calm and composed in all situations of life ,never quit in life as people who quit are the people who fail and to have the virtue to think before we speak.
    Dr.M.R.Pattabhiram presented the winning trophy and congratulated best fresher 2019 Ms. Brushra Hossain and the runner up Ms .Vanish Keshwa . Ms.Shambhavi and Mr.Sigang, 2018 best fresher and runner up crowned their respective successors.
    Last but not the least ‘Vote of Thanks’ was given by the senior student, Humera.
    At the end everyone stood for the National Anthem and followed up by lunch.
    So rightly quoted by Henry Ford ,‘Coming together is the beginning .Keeping together is progress. Working together is success’. Indeed, Ignite 2019 was a grand successful event as it made all of us work together with dedication and determination.
