B.Com – BACHELOR OF COMMERCE

Accounting and Management of accounts is a must for any business organization. The Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed to provide the student with a wide range of managerial skills while at the same time builds competence in a particular area of business studies. Students are exposed to general business principles, taking courses in accounting, finance, business management, human resources, statistics, marketing, economics, and information systems.

Familiarity in accounting offers you with an aptitude to comprehend and scrutinize financial reports and how they usually affect a business. A good knowledge in management and cost accounting practice is significant in decision making processes and in planning as well as evaluating the performance of a company’s business activities.

Eligibility: Candidate must have completed two years pre-University course of Karnataka state or its equivalent.

Duration of Degree Courses: The Course of study for all degrees shall extend over a period of Three Academic Years. Each Academic Year comprises of Two Semesters and each semester has sixteen weeks of class work.

The course in Business Administration provides fundamental ideas on Business Principles and strategies. It helps the students to gain essential knowledge about the corporate world.

BBA - BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Today’s need is to build a differentiated ability in students to be able to appreciate the demands of global business challenges. While the University stipulated course are going to be common to all colleges affiliated to it, the value that RIBS can deliver is in making the students learn and understand the fundamentals very well that they can independently apply their learning to dynamic business situations. This is almost a key need when they encounter day-to-day business challenges, a reflection of a global phenomenon. The course gives the students, the confidence and the exposure that will stand them in good stead when they become part of the industry – either as an entrepreneur or as an employee.

Project Report: The Project Report carries 100 marks which form a part of 6th Semester. There will be double evaluation of the Project Report one by the concerned guide and other by one of the examiners from the Panel of Examiners. Candidates should obtain a minimum of 35% marks.

Viva Voce: The Board of Examiners allotted by the university will conduct Viva-Voce examination for Project Report.

BCA: BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATION

Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) is an undergraduate degree course in computer applications. With the rapid growth of IT industry in India, the demand of computer professional is increasing day by day. This increasing growth of IT industry has created a lot of opportunities for the computer graduates. Bachelor of Computer Applications is a course that is customized for students wishing to shine in the field of computers and information technology. If you are interested in computer related field, then BCA is the perfect course for you.

The duration of the course is 3 years and divided into 6 semesters. It comprises of the subjects like database, networking, data structure, core programming languages like ‘C’ and ‘java’. This course provides a lot of opportunities to the students who are interested in computer field and wants to work in the IT sector as programmer or software developer.

BCA graduates can start up their career in either Government sector or private sector since there are a lot of employment opportunities in both these sectors. This degree helps the students to get a sound knowledge on computer applications with the help of which they can have a perfect launch pad for challenging career in the field of information technology.

Eligibility:
a) A candidate with PUC or 10+2 equivalent thereto with minimum of 35% marks in the aggregate of all subjects including languages. Or
b) Any student who has passed JODC or Diploma in Engg. (of three year duration of Govt. of Karnataka) with minimum of 35% of marks in aggregate in all the semester /years.

The Board of Examiners allotted by the university will conduct Viva-Voce examination for Project Report.

ELIGIBILITY

For all courses, candidates should have passed class 12/PUC or equivalent with minimum of 50 % marks as prescribed by Bangalore University. Those who are appearing for the nal examination of class 12 or PUC can also apply. Concessional Fee for SC/ST students and scholarship for meritorious students is given
